We Build What Comes Next
CoreWorks Studio is a technology-driven game studio — we build the engines, tools, and digital experiences behind the worlds we create, and we treat all of it as one craft.
Our Story
CoreWorks Studio was founded in 2023 by KBlack, and operates as part of KBlack Game Studios within KBlack Corporation. From the start, the idea was simple: the best games and the best tools tend to come from the same place — teams who care about the craft and the systems underneath it in equal measure. Rather than treat technology as a support function for creative work, we build them together, from the same table.
We're still early in that story, but it's no longer an empty one — see what we're building.
What We Build
CoreWorks works across game development, technology and engine tooling, art and design, audio, and digital experiences beyond games. We don't treat these as separate departments handing work off to one another — they're disciplines that inform each other constantly, from the first prototype to the last polish pass.
Our Approach
We build our own engines, tools, and pipelines rather than defaulting to whatever's already on the shelf — not because off-the-shelf tools are bad, but because the right tool for a specific world often doesn't exist yet. We prototype quickly, throw away what doesn't earn its place, and keep what does.
Craft and technology aren't a trade-off here. A tool that's painful to use produces worse art, and art direction that ignores technical reality produces tools nobody can ship with. We try to keep both halves of that equation honest.
Our Values
- Build. Engines, pipelines, and tools built to hold up under real production, not just demos.
- Innovate. We prototype fast and question the default, chasing the version nobody's shipped yet.
- Inspire. Every system we ship is judged first by what it makes people feel.
Our Vision
We want CoreWorks to be a studio where the technology is good enough that people forget it's there, and the worlds are memorable enough that they don't. That's a high bar, and we're building toward it deliberately rather than claiming we're already there.
